Deaf Students Told to Slap One Another

Received email from my friend today:

Deaf Students Told to Slap One Another
Berita Harian reported that a group of hearing impaired students were told by their teachers to slap one another continuously as a punishment forleaving the school's compound without permission.

One of the student'sfather has yet to meet the school principal but had brought up the case tothe NCSS and SADeaf. He also reported the incident to the police and theSembawang GRC. In a letter, the teacher involved admitted to the fault and apologised.

The teacher has since tendered resignation. Executive officerof SADeaf Jenny Ho said that they are currently investigating the matter.
