My travel tale: Wake me up
There was one occassion when I want to Melbourne on a solo trip a few years ago. I stayed in budget hotel. I had some itinerary to travel on a booked and paid trip the following day. So I had to be there in early morning. Fearing that I might oversleep and miss my trip, I requested to the hotel staff to wake me up.The following morning, indeed, a man staff came in to my room and tapped on my shoulder. Cannot imagine if I was wearing a transparent night gown.
Oops, I mean translucent. :-D

so terrible!!! But truth is truth.
My english, esp my writing is perilously deteoriating!!! The older you age, the more your language improverishes. Oh dear! This spells the death knell for the future of my language. As much as I adore writing, I am lazy to practise my writing to a crisp perfection and to honour my language through preservation. If you don't understand what on earth I am writing about, and think that my entry is morbidly-stupid written in un-intelligent grammar, it means that my language is becoming bad. Look like I will pack my bag and make a tearful exit from the blogging world.
But no, I, woman of indomitable fighting spirit, will perserve on to preserve my language. Hopefully I can find energy and strength to write often on my blog.

$1 Ice-cream Man!
He is a god-sent gift from Heaven. To deliver us from the wrath of unbearably scorching sun. To save us from being reduced to burnt and crispy ashes.
Long live the $1 ice-cream man! Long live the coolness of the ice-cream! Long live his motorcycle!

Freshly Baked Muffins
His muffins are so popular and freshly baked that there is a long queue (everyday?). He is so busy - baking muffins and attending to customers at the same time.
His "juggling balls" routine follows:
He would put trays of muffin mixture in oven. Take out trays of freshly-baked muffins. Take out the muffins from the trays and put them in display window. Go to kitchen at the back and check for trays of muffin mixture of a flavour he is looking for. Bring the tray and put it in the oven.
Then attend to customers. While packing the muffins in boxes, some customers who have made an order in advance come and interrupt him and ask him: "Where is my order?". He would search for his customers' boxes of muffins in his stall. Some boxes are on table outside his tall, waiting for customers to collect them. Sometimes customers who collect their orders would make enquires and their enquires can go on "forever".
After attending to next 2 or 3 customers, he goes back to Step 1 - baking muffins in oven. The cycle is repeated.
Queuing up, the customers in front of me can order 1 or 2 boxes of muffins at one go. 1 box can pack up to 5- 8 muffins. The waiting time is very long.
Well, the inside texture of his mufins is very different from typical muffins like Coffee Bean muffins. When I first ate it, I was very surprised to see "open pores" on it. The texture resembles Chinese steamed cake though. It is very spongy. It is not too filling that can make you not so bloated.
His stall is at Toa Payoh Lor 1 market. Dun ask me for the address cos I dun know. Hahaha. But it is within a walking distance from Philips factory ( it is a hint.)

Post-flight Syndrome?

Of these things, I am feeling very stoned that I find talking a chore. At office, I am very quiet and switch off my talking mode. Even at lunch time, I am not in the mood for gossip time.
I am a total wreck.
P/S: I snatched this last piece of pink hooded jacket sized XL from kids' department at Old Navy warehouse at a cool price - USD39.90. Which is USD4.60 cheaper than at retail shop.

Holidays Over!!!
I am back from my 2-weeks' holidays in Canada and USA. It was my first time to take a long and gruelling flight to faraway countries. In which I hate to ride on planes for long hours. But after flying back and forth to Canada and USA (From USA, I had to go back to Canada to catch my flight home to Singapore as it was much cheaper.), I think that I am getting used to long journeys.
Geography fantasises me a little. It is very interesting and eye-opener for me to learn about Canada and USA. I flew to the
The city of Surrey abounds with nature. There are a lot of farms and even a salmon hatchery. As it is inconvenient for me to go down to city of Vancouver (there are no buses or trains near my place of accomodation.), I stayed in Surrey most of the time. But I was very happy and did nothing but to seek solace in nature and enjoy chilly weather too. To recuperate from my burnt-out life due to work.
At the organisation, I met people of different nationalities who work there. They are from Brazil, Uk, Thailand and Canada. Some of them are on internships. Some of them stay at the organisation.
Even there is a staff who cycles from Vancouver to Surrey. It astounds me because it is quite a long, long and long distance to cycle on highway along rows of farms.
End of "Holidays Over!!!".

Taipei Airport
I am now at Taipei Airport, waiting for my transit flight to Vancouver. As I am typing this post, it is 7.20pm. My flight will take off at 11.55pm. Sigh! Nothing to do at airport. The airport has nothing fantastic to boast of. There are very few but sad choices to offer for food - Subway, Starbuck and a stall selling beef noodles. i settled for Subway teriyaki chicken sandwich for dinner. Ambled in and out of duty-free shops, spraying whiff of many different brands of perfumes on sample cards.
Here I am, typing about the airport.
